BOLOGNA - Founded by the Etruscans with the name of Felsina, known as the Roman city with the name of Bononia, became then a free Commune and the city of the papacy, Bologna has a variety of aspects that makes it unique. Seat of the oldest university in Europe and gastronomic capital of Italy, it is famous for the quality of life that offers its inhabitants as well as for the civic virtues that universally represent them.
Nowadays, Bologna offers its visitors one of the best preserved historic centers of Europe, the result of a secular development proceeded by contrasts and new synthesis: a single monument.
